I nearly included the Paul Robeson version of Old Folks At Home – aka Swanee River. Looking at the lyrics I decided against it. The Swan River in Oz runs through Ken’s neck of the woods.
And Swan slim filters for the baccy. Ronnie Lane has suddenly appeared in the rear view mirror. Seriously weird stuff with alternate realities, memory and Time.
You won’t believe what just crashed into Milton’s azaleas!
Jewels! The grey!
It’s not about alien visitation it’s about aging. And the inevitable realization that you’ve reached the point where it’s behind you more than in front of you.
The Swan Song
The phrase refers to an ancient belief that swans sing a beautiful song just before their death since they have been silent for most of their lifetimes.
Earth is a nursery which produces seedlings, that grow into buds, that flower as they mature. Humans are the same except we have an element of choice in the process, the daisy doesn’t. We are being impelled by the process to make the transition from child to adult and we are resisting. I think that’s where a lot of this trans mania is coming from as an attempt to ironically, stop the transition.
Simply put, a woman defined is a little girl who grows up.
A man defined is a little boy who grows up.
It’s being deliberately complicated. And it’s further complicated in that our view of masculinity and femininity come from the same childish place. We’ve never seen what those things look like and we won’t, until go there. Until then we’re stuck with Barbie and Oppenheimer. 🤨
Just my opinion. I’m not an expert on anything, except maybe The Twilight Zone. This is from an episode called Walking Distance, when a man tried to reclaim his ‘one chance at summer’.
I can’t see your vid, Orlena (I’m in the wrong country apparently), and I’m not that au fait with the The Twilight Zone. However, this is a pretty good review of the episode…
That’s delightful – on a walk back to his happier days, the Ad Man meets Richie Cunningham…
That fits with what I’m experiencing. Time is very peculiar here and all over the place and makes life complicated at times. The Universe speaks of a ‘World Before Time’ in a similar fashion to Narnia.
Deeper Magic.
“It means” said Aslan “that though the Witch knew the Deep Magic, there is a magic deeper still which she did not know. Her knowledge only goes back to the dawn of time. But if she could have looked a little further back, ino the stillness and the Darkness before time dawned, she would have read there a different incantation.”
I took two Swan disposable lighters to work with me today by accident.

Swanee is a tramp’s name from my childhood.
