Art For Art’s Sake

A 10cc rabbit hole has opened up.
Firstly with ‘The Wall St Shuffle’ and SVB Bank. And today ‘Art For Art’s Sake.’

There is method in the madness somewhere. In Red Pill today this ‘Creation’ pic caught my attention.

I then went into the Belfry Mall and the Orpheus Centre who are based in Godstone were holding an exhibition.

Orpheus Ancient Greek: Ὀρφεύς, classical pronunciation: in Greek mythology was a Thracian bard, legendary musician and prophet. He was also a renowned poet and, according to the legend, travelled with Jason and the Argonauts in search of the Golden Fleece, and even descended into the underworld of Hades, to recover his lost wife Eurydice.

Ancient Greek authors such as Strabo and Plutarch note Orpheus’s Thracian origins. The major stories about him are centered on his ability to charm all living things and even stones with his music (the usual scene in Orpheus mosaics), his attempt to retrieve his wife Eurydice from the underworld, and his death at the hands of the maenads of Dionysus, who tired of his mourning for his late wife Eurydice. As an archetype of the inspired singer, Orpheus is one of the most significant figures in the reception of classical mythology in Western culture, portrayed or alluded to in countless forms of art and popular culture including poetry, film, opera, music, and painting.

For the Greeks, Orpheus was a founder and prophet of the so-called “Orphic” mysteries. He was credited with the composition of the Orphic Hymns and the Orphic Argonautica. Shrines containing purported relics of Orpheus were regarded as oracles.

The Orpheus Centre is a further education college for ‘disabled’ adults from 18-25 who have been diagnosed with labels such as autism and Down’s Syndrome. Firstly, it’s all life and secondly anyone who actually fits into this madhouse is the one with the problem. IMO. It was set up by a TV presenter, Richard Stilgoe back in the 1990s and has grown since since then. When Stilgoe started the project he used music therapy as he is a skilled pianist and it has expanded since then to include other art therapies.

I don’t want to over romanticise parenting children with autism and Downs Syndrome. Raising a ‘normal’ child is hard enough and I imagine it is exceedingly hard work at times. ‘Normal’ children are probably more 3D programmable though. However I believe autistic and Downs Syndrome individuals have a unique spiritual energy and they are here at this time for a reason.

‘Out of the Dark : See us as we emerge out of the dark and into the light’

‘The Illusion Of Living’.

A while later I found another neural pathway. Infinite neural pathways.

More art for art’s sake.

And Nature Boy. Today is the Spring Equinox.

Rather fittingly the Pea Hen appeared.

More Cherry Blossom.

And Something New. Down the new pathway I found this flower. Again I’m not sure exactly what it is.

A random selection of flora and fauna from the last few years which I don’t recognise.

The Illusion of Death.

Some may find it morbid. I find graveyards can be very peaceful.

And ‘Hello From The Other Side’ . A few days ago I had a 2001 Stargate hyperjump experience. When I got home today and entered my apartment I heard angelic music is the best description and I couldn’t find a physical source in this realm.
