Today is a Lunar Eclipse and that means the Eva Green gif.
And 50 years ago today – 16/7/69 – is the date Apollo 11 was launched to go to the Moon.
Over the last couple of days, it’s gone a bit Braniac.
First, it was announced that in the UK, the new face on the £50- note will be Alan Turing.
From Wiki :
‘Alan Mathison Turing OBE FRS (/ˈtjʊərɪŋ/; 23 June 1912 – 7 June 1954) was an English mathematician, computer scientist, logician, cryptanalyst, philosopher and theoretical biologist.
Turing was highly influential in the development of theoretical computer science, providing a formalisation of the concepts of algorithm and computation with the Turing machine, which can be considered a model of a general-purpose computer.
Turing is widely considered to be the father of theoretical computer science and artificial intelligence. Despite these accomplishments, he was never fully recognised in his home country during his lifetime, due to his homosexuality, which was then a crime in the UK, and because his work was covered by the Official Secrets Act.’
Later today Elon Musk will be giving an update on how his Neuralink project is progressing. I’m writing before the event so we’ll see.
And earlier today, I came across this headline.
‘How The Mind Arises’.
‘How Matter Becomes Mind’.
Or should it read ‘How Mind Becomes Matter’ ? And the Mind creates all matter including the brain. Thinking makes it so. Discuss 🙂 .
And there’s a new Storm coming.
‘Storm Area 51’.
Recently, I’ve been having adventures with pollen and even this seems to fit.
It’s blowing in the Wind.
