Piece Of Mind

By Frank Tremayne

The satellite known as Fakir was programmed to circle around Planet Earth 10 times a day. Fakir was the Crème de la Creme in the AI network. The Jewel in the Crown. His purpose was to create fake news, false memory and trigger an emotional reaction in the human mind.

Since the invention of the first camera in 1816 by Joseph Nicéphore Niépce, scientists interested in the Mind had realised that photographic images had an effect on human beings. The camera was then followed by the invention of moving pictures which became known as the movies. Over the years the technology had become more and more refined. First it was black and white imaging and then the process which allowed colour images was discovered. The movies then moved into the house with the development of television technology.

The intention was to create what has become known in the modern world as Fake News. The process was relatively simple. Images were specifically targeted at the memory and emotional cortexes in the human brain and this would create a belief that events had actually happened when in reality they hadn’t.

The aim was to manipulate human emotions. Sometimes it would be tragic news, sometimes good news and then amusing or exciting news. The complete emotional spectrum could be manipulated by triggering the emotional and memory areas in the human mind.

The first trial of memory creation was the Nuremberg Zeppelin crash over Paris, France in the 1930s. The technology was basic then and newspapers and movie news reels were initially used and showed images of a fake disaster which was aimed at the brain cortex. Humans, at the time, who had no idea they were being manipulated were studied to see whether a false memory could be created. The scientists were surprised that it worked so easily.

Over the next decades, imaging technology progressed. The invention of analogue television further advanced Fake Memory news and it was able to target a larger number of people. Also at the same time, scientists discovered a process where they could create simulated events as images and these could be shown on television. In the 1960s, television saw a dramatic rise in use all around the world and it was decided to trial the process on a global scale.

The first global Fake News memory test was the 1964 Football World Cup in London, England. Simulated images of the football games were created and then showed around the world. Association Football was the Number 1 sports in emotions at a number of levels. It triggered amazing excitement and joy and the agony and ecstasy, and also increased the competitive tribal instinct in populaces around the globe.

Part of fake news was to create stars of individual players and associated personal fake stories were also invented which people would read about in the newspapers and on television. Heroes and villains in the story.

The scientists were amazed at how well this experiment went. The simulated final between England and Portugal was watched all over the world by the biggest global audience for a one off event up to that point. England won 2-1 and the game was decided by a last minute penalty.

Compared to modern day technology analogue television was relatively slow and it took time for the imaging to work. The process had a relatively moderate effect on the emotional belief system. In the background scientists had been working on a new technology known as Digital. Along with advancements in Artificial Intelligence such as the Internet and satellite technology the technique was further refined. In the 2000s, digital technology was slowly introduced and eventually analogue was turned off.

Digital hit the spot quicker than analogue and immediate emotional reactions were observed rather than the drip drip with analogue. It was decided to trial digital with a large event. This occurred on 8/11/2010 in Dallas, Texas, USA when it was reported a mini nuclear device had been detonated in the centre of the city and the images were shown around the world in real time.

The reality was that the Dallas bomb hadn’t actually happened. The imaging was a simulation created by Fakir. Fakir sent the images to a hi tech computer location in the Highlands of Scotland and these were relayed around the world. In order for Fake News to be accepted as real, further mind techniques are required. With 8/11 in Dallas as an example, the brain cortexes of people who lived in the area and who visited the site would be targeted and this would create a reality and memory that 8/11 was real. Over time, the site would appear to return to something like normal in the Mind but the memory and imaging from the bomb would remain. And the story was kept running in the media as if it had happened and reinforced the belief in its reality.

Since then further refinements have taken place. Boggle and You Pube have been the prime AI creator of this and not only fake news is created but also personal fake You Pube websites where simulated avatars are seen shown doing a variety of many things and appear incredibly realistic. Imaging has been found to work better than words and speaks at a simple level in the Mind.

With the relatively minor fake stories such as You Pube dancing girls and singers and such like, Fakir is left to his own devices and is allowed to create the videos on his own. More sensitive material such as politics are still programmed by humans. The system is now relatively easy. Humans simply tell him ‘Create a fake global disease’ or a ‘Create a fake war’ and Fakir does the rest.

The wheel has come a long way.
