However ! I found the toads in a Sand Hill and Natterjack toads like sand. Difficult to tell from googling Common toads and Natterjack toads as they look very similar. Natterjack toads shouldn’t be here as they like coastal sandy areas. Not sure though as I found them in sand. And mysteriouser and mysteriouser the sand hill looks very similar to the Devil’s Tower in Close Encounters.
Close to Hevers Pond but actually on the other side of the path from the pond in sand hills. The pond is reputedly over 1000 years old. And highly unscientific. The universe does speak a strange language though. The sign for the pond is light blue which I associate with Lemuria.
After I took the first pics and videos of the toads, I sat down on a bench a short way away and rolled myself a cigarette. As I was doing that, I sat watching in awe as a toad hopped over towards me. One small hop for a toad, one giant hop for toadkind.
My initial assumption was that the toads are normal Common Toads.
