  1. It’s a strange place.

    Kenneth T’s comment discussing Narnia.

‘Only we seem to be missing something…
    Oh…
The rings, we need the rings.’

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

      1. It’s a Marvel super hero movie. Haven’t seen it myself. I googled ‘movies about dragons’ and it was the first movie that showed up. The gif works well with the article. Got Chinese, and Eastern as in that part of the world, synchronicities going on in my personal life so it seems to fit.

And there’s a more intangible theme I believe with 2024 and Year of the Wood Dragon about need for control and having to trust the dragon. Seems to be saying riding the wood dragon now. All aboard. Maybe I should have thought about it before climbing aboard but irresistible. It may seem a weird way of doing things. Actually when you start to understand the symbolic language it makes sense to explain what’s going on.

The Great Protector is one of the two overarching protagonists (alongside Ying Li) of the 2021 Marvel Cinematic Universe film, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

She is a mystical Chinese dragon, an ally of Shang-Chi and the guardian of Ta Lo. In ancient times, she fought against the Dweller-in-Darkness, and saved the realm of Ta Lo from destruction. The Great Protector resided in the lake by the Ta Lo village for centuries, until she came to the aid of the people of Ta Lo against the Dweller in the present day, which had been freed by Shang-Chi’s father, Xu Wenwu. Upon defeating the Dweller, the Great Protector resumed protecting Ta Lo.

  2. The Magical Forest.

A wood nymph. Or maybe Aquaman. Or both. Eye of the beholder.

A dryad is a tree nymph or tree spirit in Greek mythology. Drys signifies “oak” in Greek. Dryads were originally considered the nymphs of oak trees specifically, but the term has evolved towards tree nymphs in general. Often their life force was connected to the tree in which they resided and they were usually found in sacred groves of the gods.
